Bilal El Khannouss mulling over Tottenham move

Tottenham have received a massive boost in their pursuit of Leicester City sensation Bilal El Khannouss, amidst interest from Crystal Palace.

According to a report from Give Me Sport, Tottenham have made a last-ditch effort to sign Leicester City attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannouss. Crystal Palace have been pushing hard to sign him for weeks, but Spurs could potentially hijack the deal as they have received a positive response from the player.

After coming up the ranks and making a name for himself at KRC Genk, El Khannouss joined the Foxes last summer. While he had quite an impressive season, the 21-year-old could not help them avoid relegation.

Having suffered the drop with Leicester City, he is now keen on securing an immediate return to the top flight. While the Foxes would have loved to have him around, they have accepted the fact that it is in the best interest of both parties to let him leave.

Crystal Palace have been pushing for the signature of Bilal El Khannouss for weeks. The Eagles consider him an ideal long-term replacement for Eberechi Eze, who recently snubbed Tottenham to join rivals Arsenal.

El Khannouss has been open to a move to Selhurst Park. Crystal Palace were reportedly close to signing the 21-year-old in a deal worth £32 million. However, things have changed after he was made aware that Spurs are now keen on signing him.

Tottenham leapfrog Palace in El Khannouss pursuit

After getting snubbed by Eze, the North London club are now looking in the market for ideal alternatives. Como’s Nico Paz was their top priority, but he has decided to continue at the Serie A club, which is another massive blow for Tottenham.

Thomas Frank’s team have now decided to enter the race for Bilal El Khannouss. The player wants to play at the highest level possible, and he seems very keen on joining Spurs, where he will have the opportunity to feature in the Champions League.

The Moroccan international is considering making an eleventh-hour U-turn to join the North London club, after initially showing interest in a move to Selhurst Park. He is rethinking his decision and is expected to make a final call this week. The Moroccan international is keen on resolving his future before the transfer deadline day. As a result, it will be interesting to see if Tottenham do manage to beat Crystal Palace to his services.
