Lazio ready to sell Valentin Castellanos in January, price revealed

Serie A club Lazio will entertain bids worth around €30-35 million to sell 27-year-old Argentine international Valentin Castellanos in the winter transfer window.

According to a report by Italian outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi, Everton and West Ham United were among the prospective suitors vying for Valentin Castellanos in the summer transfer window. However, a deal did not materialise, as Lazio did not want to part ways with the Argentine international.

However, that stance has changed, as the Serie A giants are open to cashing in on the South American attacker for a bid worth around €30-35 million in the winter transfer window. That has given the two Premier League clubs renewed hopes of landing Castellanos if they retain their interest in him.

Valentin Castellanos and his career so far

Valentino Castellanos has established himself as one of the most underrated strikers in Serie A since joining Lazio from New York City FC in July 2023. A native of Mendoza, the 27-year-old spent his formative years in South America and graduated from the youth division at Club Universidad de Chile.

Since then, the Argentine international has endured a topsy-turvy ride in his career before landing on his feet at SS Lazio. Castellanos has been hot off the blocks in the 2025/26 season, amassing two goals and three assists in six Serie A appearances. However, his future at the Serie A club is uncertain, with Maurizio Sarri ready to sanction his sale. Meanwhile, the player has been a target for Premier League clubs Everton and West Ham United since the summer.

Premier League move on the horizon?

It is unclear if Everton will continue pursuing Valentin Castellanos in the winter transfer window. The Merseyside club signed Thierno Barry this past summer, and the Frenchman has been solid in his initial showings. Additionally, Beto has done well under the tutelage of David Moyes.

As for West Ham United, the Hammers can do with a productive striker, as Niclas Fullkrug has struggled with fitness issues since arriving from Borussia Dortmund. Additionally, Callum Wilson is approaching the twilight of his career. So, Castellanos is an option worth considering for West Ham.

Meanwhile, Lazio will not charge a bomb to part ways with the 27-year-old Argentine international, having slapped a price tag of €30-35 million on him. It will be interesting to see if Everton and West Ham renew their interest in Castellanos and offer around €30-35 million to secure his services in the winter transfer window.
