According to a report from CaughtOffside, Arsenal and Tottenham are both keen on signing Victor Froholdt, who has made quite a name for himself with his impressive performances for FC Porto. The North London clubs could enter into a bidding war for the teenage sensation as early as January.
Froholdt came up the ranks at Copenhagen, and on the back of his impressive rise, he ended up joining Porto a few months back. The teenage midfielder has been involved in a total of 10 matches for his new club, and he already has three goal contributions.
While it hasn’t been long since his move to the Portuguese club, European giants are already showing interest in the Danish international. Multiple top clubs are closely monitoring the 19-year-old, and Arsenal and Tottenham are two of those clubs.
Scouts from both Premier League clubs have often been spotted in the stands to watch Froholdt in action. Given how impressive he has been, the North London clubs could make a move for him as early as the winter transfer window.
Porto are reportedly open to a potential transfer as long as their demands are met. The Portuguese outfit would want around €50-60 million for the youngster on the back of his impressive performances and massive potential.
The Liga Portugal giants are bracing themselves for offers, and as things stand, the teenager could be at the centre of a fierce transfer battle at the turn of the calendar.
Arsenal seek more quality in midfield, and they see him as someone who can become a cornerstone of their long-term project. Mikel Arteta’s staff are quite impressed with his performances. The Gunners’ scouts rate his passing range and intelligence quite highly. They see in him a future “Granit Xhaka” thanks to his ability to dictate the pace of the game.
Meanwhile, Tottenaham are all set to rival them in their pursuit. Thomas Frank’s team are impressed by a different side of his game. His physicality and his ability to run up and down the pitch make him an ideal fit for the Premier League. Spurs want to freshen things up in midfield and they feel the 19-year-old could be a great option for the long-run.
