Manchester United enter Rayan Vitor Simplicio Rocha chase

Manchester United may look to sign 19-year-old Brazilian attacking sensation Rayan Vitor Simplicio Rocha from Vasco da Gama in the winter transfer window.

According to a report by Bolavip, Rayan Vitor Simplicio Rocha is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a versatile attacker heading into the winter transfer window. So, the 19-year-old Casco da Gama forward has emerged as a target.

The report has suggested that “negotiations will begin very soon and official talks will take place” over a move to Manchester United before the winter transfer window. The Premier League bigwigs see the South American attacker “as a very promising gem, with the look and feel” of a Premier League player.

Rayan Vitor and his rapid rise

Rayan Vitor Simplicio Rocha has established himself as one of the most promising young attackers in his homeland since breaking into the first-team squad at Vasco da Gama. The Rio de Janeiro native has spent his formative years thus far with Vasco da Gama, joining them as a six-year-old in 2012. The 19-year-old progressed through the ranks at the club before making his senior bow.

The Brazilian wonderkid debuted for the Brasileirao Serie A outfit in 2023, and he has seen his stock soar in the last two years. The player has been impressive this season, amassing 16 goals and one assist in 46 outings thus far. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several Premier League bigwigs, with Manchester United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the winter transfer window.

Premier League move on the horizon?

Manchester United’s interest in Rayan Vitor Simplicio Rocha is understandable. The Red Devils are scouring the market for a versatile attacker, as Joshua Zirkzee faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford heading into the winter transfer window. The versatile Dutch forward is frustrated by his situation at Manchester United, as he has barely featured in the ongoing campaign.

While Manchester United will attempt to block a winter exit, they should be ready to replace Zirkzee if he pushes for his departure. Rayan has thus emerged as a viable target, and his versatility makes him an ideal backup for Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko, and Bryan Mbeumo.

Interestingly, Manchester United will lose Mbeumo for a few weeks due to the Africa Cup of Nations. So, pursuing the Vasco da Gama wonderkid makes sense. However, Manchester United will likely face stiff competition for the 19-year-old Brazilian attacker’s signature, as Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are also keen on signing him.
