Four PSG players and two Frenchmen included in FIFPRO World XI

The FIFPRO World XI has been announced and, unsurprisingly, Paris Saint-Germain players feature prominently.

The XI is for the entire calendar year and is voted for by the players themselves. In goal, it is Gianluigi Donnarumma, who helped PSG win the UEFA Champions League, who gets the vote. However, he has since left Les Parisiens to join Manchester City. There are, nonetheless, still four current PSG players in the squad.

Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes feature in the defence. Vitinha said on Tuesday that the latter was the best left-back in the world, and the Portugal international himself features in the midfield. Up-front, there are two Frenchmen, one of whom plays for Les Parisiens, the other used to play for the reigning European champions.

Ousmane Dembélé won the Ballon d’Or back in September and features in the attack, alongside France captain Kylian Mbappé, who finished last season as the top goal-scorer across Europe’s top five leagues.
