Stuttgart CEO Alexander Wehrle has reiterated Jamie Leweling’s desire to remain at the club beyond January, despite concrete interest from Bournemouth.
“We have sporting objectives for the second half of the season that we want to achieve, and we have defined those very clearly,” Wehrle told Sky Germany.
“Jamie has also stated very clearly on a personal level that a move is not an option for him. It was different with Nick Woltemade, who was determined to leave the club.”
Bournemouth are in the market for a replacement for Antoine Semenyo, who joined Manchester City for an initial £62.5m. The Premier League side identified Leweling as a replacement for their departed star, but saw their initial €40m offer rebuffed by the Bundesliga club.
With a contract until 2029, Stuttgart hold all the cards when it comes to discussing the 24-year-old’s departure.
