Champions League winners PSG have been drawn to face Ligue 1 rivals AS Monaco for the tournament’s play-offs round. Given they were seeded before the draw as they finished higher than Monaco, PSG will host the return leg in their Parc des Princes home. The two-legged tie will be played on February 17-18 and 24-25.
Last season, PSG were already drawn to a Ligue 1 side – Brest – on their way to their maiden title. Earlier in the campaign, Monaco beat the odds in defeating Luis Enrique’s Les Parisiens. It means only one Ligue 1 team will qualify in the Champions League RO16 following Marseille’s collapse against Club Brugge. In the RO16, Monaco or PSG will face either Barcelona or Chelsea.
