Paul Pogba has not featured for AS Monaco since suffering a calf injury at the start of December. Prior to that and following his arrival at the Principality club on a free transfer in the summer, he had played just 30 minutes, as he built up his fitness following a two-year absence from football.
Pogba has yet to return to first-team training and it is unclear as to when he will make his return to the pitch. “The medical staff are focused on finding a solution, firstly so that he gets back on the pitch, before then returning to matches,” said Monaco’s CEO Thiago Scuro in a press conference attended by Get French Football News.
He added, “He continues to recover from his calf injury. His return date? There is no clear response.” It is not a good sign for the former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder, who has been removed from Monaco’s UEFA Champions League squad.
