His contract ends in the summer, and Vlahovic has not signed an extension with the Italian outfit. The player has been linked with a move to AC Milan, but a move seems unlikely because of the financial demands of the player and his agent. On the other hand, Chelsea and Tottenham have been linked with the player as well, and they could be in a position to secure his signature because of their financial resources.
Carlo Pellegatti said (h/t ): “Chelsea and Tottenham, and therefore England, could be in pole position for Dusan Vlahovic’s future.”
Vlahovic is asking for a signing-on fee and his entourage also want major commission.
“I’m not surprised, because his agent’s commission demands are very high. He himself wants a signing bonus. The financial negotiations are very complicated and, in my opinion, excessive for Milan at this time.
“Giorgio Furlani buys players up to €30m, but above that he needs a countersignature. This is why Vlahovic, also for this reason, is more complicated than expected.”
The 26-year-old Serbian could prove an excellent addition to both clubs. Chelsea needs to find an upgrade on Liam Delap, who has not lived up to expectations since joining the club. The 26-year-old has the physicality and technical attributes to thrive in English football, and he could be a key player for Chelsea.
Similarly, Tottenham need more attacking depth. They have not been able to score goals consistently. Dominic Solanke has struggled with injuries, and he has not been prolific enough. Randal Kolo Muani is currently on loan at the London club, but he will leave when his loan deal expires. Investing in another striker will be an absolute priority for Tottenham.
Vlahovic has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past as well, and it will be interesting to see if he can secure the move this time around. Signing him for free would be a masterstroke for either club.
