Como manager Cesc Fabregas has delivered a blunt assessment of Alvaro Morata’s conduct following the striker’s dismissal during the clash against Fiorentina.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Spanish forward was sent off after becoming embroiled in a heated scuffle late in the game. The tension erupted when Fiorentina were denied a penalty, leading to a confrontation where Morata lost his composure. Things got a bit fiesty with Fiorrentina’s Luca Ranieri.
Fabregas did not hold back in his post-match comments, offering honest and harsh words regarding his player’s inability to remain disciplined under pressure.
Fabregas expressed his frustration with the veteran’s reaction, stating: “Provocation is part of football. Those who don’t tolerate provocation have change careers. He’s an experienced player, I expect more from him, because the line between winning and losing is very thin. I don’t like excuses. We have to play our own game; what others say shouldn’t matter to us.”
The manager emphasized that at this level, professional players must expect gamesmanship and mental tests from opponents without jeopardizing the team’s numerical strength.
While Morata remains a focal point of the attack, his manager’s public ultimatum suggests that such lapses in temperament will no longer be tolerated as the club fights for its seasonal objectives.
