PLAYER RATINGS | Lille 1-1 Brest: Les Dogues’ misery continues as Ligue 1 winless run stretches to six

Ligue 1 McDonald’s, Round 22, 14/02/2026

Lille OSC made it six games without a win in Ligue 1 as they drew 1-1 with Stade Brestois.

The Match

The tempo of the game was set from the early exchanges as Lille dominated the ball, but failed to find the back of the net. It was not for want of trying from the hosts as they racked up chances in the first half, forcing Grégoire Coudert into a mini highlight reel.

Matias Fernandez-Pardo came closest to challenging Coudert in the 10th minute when he got on the end of Romain Perraud’s cross. Fernandez-Pardo was able to flick a header on target from close range, but the Brest goalkeeper was more than a match for the effort.

Brest struggled to threaten, outside of Rémy Labeau Lascary’s marauding runs down the right of Lille’s defence. The winger had the better of Ayyoub Bouaddi, who was in place as a makeshift fullback, but struggled to test Berke Özer. Seconds before the clock reached 45 minutes, the referee blew his whistle, bringing an end to a half that was better for being over.

There were signs that Brest were coming alive in the second half. Alexsandro had to leap into action to shepherd Labeau Lascary away from the goal when the winger burst into the box. The former RC Lens man later looked to set up Romain Del Castillo, who couldn’t keep his shot down.

Labeau Lascary had his hands involved in all of Brest’s most threatening actions, and it felt only natural that he’d find the opener for Les Pirates. Brest won the ball high up the pitch, and Ajorque looked to feed Labeau Lascary just outside the area. The winger didn’t bother taking a touch, striking it sweetly with a first-time effort.

Bruno Génésio turned to his bench, bringing on the former AJ Auxerre winger Gaëtan Perrin for his second appearance since his transfer deadline day move from FC Krasnodar. It took him only five minutes before he found the back of the net to level the scores and give Les Dogues some life, finishing a fluid passing move.

Lille looked as if they had rediscovered some fight in the minutes that passed following their equaliser, but as time slipped away, so did their belief. Brest had a late shout for a handball when the ball struck Benjamin André on the arm, but the decision was waved away by both the referee and VAR.

Lille Player Ratings

Berke Özer, 4

Romain Perraud, 5

Alexsandro, 5

Chancel Mbemba, 5

Ayyoub Bouaddi, 4

The midfielder was played as a makeshift right-back. He looked uncomfortable when tasked with defending, and it was no surprise that Rémy Labeau Lascary had such a dangerous game attacking down his wing. It simply wasn’t the position that Bouaddi excels at, and is hopefully one he doesn’t have to play in the future.

Benjamin André, 6

Hákon Arnar Haraldsson, 6

Played in a far deeper role than usual as he partnered up with Benjamin André as the double pivot. It was an interesting game for him as he helped Lille maintain a stranglehold in possession, rather than looking to thread the needle in more advanced areas.

Ngal’ayel Mukau, 4

Soriba Diaoune, 5

A first start for the Lille-born striker. He was surprisingly played more like an attacking midfielder, with the freedom to drift around the pitch in a fluid attack. He had a couple of moments where he looked dangerous, but overall, it was a quiet game. It perhaps would have been interesting to see him as a more conventional no.9.

Félix Correia, 5

Matias Fernandez-Pardo, 5
