‘Robbed’ – Barcelona fans cry foul after damaging Girona defeat

Supporters of La Liga champions Barcelona have on Monday evening exploded into protest.

This comes owing to what they collectively feel was a major injustice en route to defeat at the hands of Girona.

Hansi Flick’s troops marked their return to action a short time ago, making the trip to the Estadi Montilivi for a La Liga clash.

The fixture represented a crucial one for the Blaugrana, who headed into proceedings trailing arch rivals Real Madrid atop the Spanish top-flight table.

When all was said and done, however, it was the evening’s hosts who emerged shock victors.

After Pau Cubarsí’s opener was cancelled out by Thomas Lemar, Fran Beltrán completed the turnaround late on.

It was in the aftermath of the latter’s winner, though, that controversy reigned.

After replays of the goal came to the fore, Barcelona’s fanbase were nothing short of adamant that Jules Koundé had been fouled by Claudio Echeverri.

So sure were the Blaugrana faithful, in fact, that many went as far as to call ‘robbery’ upon the goal being allowed to stand:
