Two Serie A Clubs to Consider De Zerbi in the Summer

Roberto De Zerbi is back on the market following his tumultuous Olympique Marseille exit, and a few Serie A clubs, primarily Napoli and Fiorentina, will take a look at him in the summer if he’s still available.

According to La Repubblica (via OneFootball), the Partenopei aren’t sure Antonio Conte will stay following a tough and subpar season by his standards, amid a series of major injuries and some friction with the players and the management. His relationship with Aurelio De Laurentiis remains solid. However, it remains to be seen whether he’ll give it another go. He didn’t extend his contract after turning down the opportunity to return to Juventus last summer. The expiration date is 2027.

In addition to Napoli, Fiorentina will be in the mix for De Zerbi if they avoid relegation. They’ll aim to quickly leave the current campaign in the rearview mirror and resume competing to qualify for a European competition. New director Fabio Paratici has confirmed Paolo Vanoli, but didn’t choose him.

The former Brighton and Sassuolo coach spent some time with the Azzurri as a player. He has been linked to basically all top Serie A sides at some point in recent years. However, Inter, Milan, Roma, and Juventus will most likely stick with their current gaffers.

Our Take on De Zerbi, Napoli, and Fiorentina

It’d be nice to see him back in Italy after he had decent success abroad. His playing style is more popular than when he left a few years back. Other than for the lack of openings, although the ever-restless Conte could hand him a golden opportunity, he might have to settle for a second-tier side, given also how his last spells have gone.
