AC Milan, Juventus front-runners to sign Gabriel Jesus

Italian giants AC Milan and Juventus are leading the race to sign Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus, who is surplus to requirements.

Gabriel Jesus has been constantly linked with a move away from Arsenal as he is no longer an important part of Mikel Arteta’s plans. The Brazilian international is expected to be on the move this summer, and according to a report from Fichajes, AC Milan and Juventus have emerged as front-runners to sign the former Manchester City striker.

The 28-year-old came up the ranks at Palmeiras and made a name for himself while playing for their first team before joining Manchester City back in 2017. He had a five-year-long successful stint at the club before making the move to rivals Arsenal in 2022.

Mikel Arteta played a massive role in the transfer. Having worked with the Brazilian during his time at City, the Spanish manager was keen on having him at his disposal at Arsenal. Gabriel Jesus was a very important part of the North London club’s team in the initial years, but things have been a lot different in recent seasons.

The former City star has slowly slipped down the pecking order after failing to deliver the desired output. He has also struggled with injuries, which certainly haven’t helped his cause. Arsenal ended up signing Viktor Gyokeres last summer, and since he has been the go-to man in the final third, the 28-year-old has had very limited game time this term.

He has been involved in just 18 matches in all competitions, racking up less than 700 minutes. Since he is no longer an important part of their plans, and his current deal runs out in just over 12 months, Arsenal see the upcoming transfer window as an ideal opportunity to cash in on him.

Italian giants want to sign Gabriel Jesus

With the Gunners ready to sanction his departure, there is no shortage of interest in him. AC Milan and Juventus have emerged as the front-runners to sign the Brazilian international. The player is ready to move on from Arsenal in search of a more prominent role, and both Italian clubs are ready to make him an integral part of their plans.

Juventus are closely monitoring his situation. While they didn’t make a move in the winter window, they are gearing up to table an offer in the summer. The Old Lady see this as a great market opportunity to bolster their attack for a bargain fee.

Meanwhile, AC Milan, who are looking to add a different profile to their attack, are set to rival Juventus. They feel the Brazilian’s versatility and his ability to link up with teammates and create chances could come in handy.

Gabriel Jesus is seriously considering a move to Italy, as he would love a new challenge, and a change of scenery could help him get back on track.
