Chelsea, Manchester United vying for Karim Adeyemi

Chelsea and Manchester United are both keen on acquiring the services of Borussia Dortmund attacking mainstay Karim Adeyemi.

The German international could end up parting ways with Borussia Dortmund in the upcoming summer transfer window. With him likely to be available, multiple top clubs are keeping tabs on his situation. According to a report from Fichajes, Chelsea and Manchester United are both interested in signing the young winger.

Adeyemi made a name for himself while playing for Red Bull Salzburg before making the jump to Dortmund in the summer of 2022. The 24-year-old winger has only gone from strength to strength over the last few seasons. He established himself as a key figure in the team.

In the ongoing campaign, he has been involved in 33 matches and has racked up over 1,600 minutes. Adeyemi has contributed towards 13 goals (eight goals, five assists). While he prefers playing out wide on the right flank, the 24-year-old has done a great job in a more central role as well.

With his contract running out in just over a year’s time, Dortmund are keen on securing his future with a new long-term deal. However, renewal talks have reached a standstill, and it has resulted in a lot of talk about his future.

Adeyemi is looking to secure a move to England, and it has played a big part in his decision not to renew terms at Dortmund. With him set to enter the final year of his contract, Dortmund have no options but to cash in on him.

Premier League duo want Adeyemi

The player’s situation has put Chelsea and Manchester United on red alert. Both Premier League outfits are set to revive their interest in the young speedster. With time running out, Dortmund need to make a call on whether they want to cash in on him or risk losing him for free in 12 months.

With Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha doing wonders for them, the Red Devils are looking to complete their attack by signing Adeyemi. His ability to feature on either flank, as well as his pace, could come in handy.

Meanwhile, United will face stiff competition from Chelsea, who are constantly on the lookout for young players with massive potential. Adeyemi is certainly an ideal fit for their project. With Alejandro Garnacho set to leave the club, the 24-year-old could take his place in the team.

With two of the biggest clubs in the country keen on his signature, it will be interesting to see if they manage to strike a deal.
