Barcelona, Manchester United vying for Evan Ndicka, learn price

Barcelona and Manchester United are reportedly ready to battle it out for the signature of AS Roma centre-back Evan Ndicka.

Evan Ndicka has taken his game to the next level since moving to Italy. The Ivory Coast international has established himself as one of the best defenders in Serie A, and his consistent performances have not gone unnoticed. Multiple top clubs are ready to prise him away.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Barcelona and Manchester United are both keen on acquiring the services of the Ivorian international. Both clubs want more quality for their defensive units, and the 26-year-old can certainly help their cause.

Evan Ndicka made a name for himself while playing for Eintracht Frankfurt. On the back of his impressive rise, quite a few top clubs were after his signature. But AS Roma managed to beat the competition to his signature and added him to their squad in the summer of 2023.

The Ivorian international has only gone from strength to strength over the last few seasons. In the ongoing campaign, he has been involved in 32 games and has even bagged four goals. Ndicka is one of the first names on Roma’s team sheet, and his performances have resulted in a lot of interest.

Barcelona are plotting a raid on Ndicka

While Evan Ndicka’s contract at the Serie A club runs until 2028, top European clubs are ready to prise him away. Barcelona are one of the clubs that are keen on signing the 26-year-old centre-back, as they look to add more quality to their backline.

The Blaugrana have not coped well with Inigo Martinez’s departure, and Ronald Araujo’s struggles have not helped their cause either. As a result, they are looking at Ndicka, who is a left-footed centre-back with great ball distribution skills and a strong physical presence.

However, signing him won’t be easy, as they will face stiff competition from Manchester United, and more importantly, AS Roma have no intentions of parting ways with him early. They would want at least €50 million to sell one of their star players.

Their demand certainly makes it tricky for Barcelona, who remain in a financial crisis. Meanwhile, Manchester United can certainly afford to fork out that kind of fee for the 26-year-old. With Harry Maguire’s future up in the air, Ndicka could be a valuable addition to their squad.
