Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior: ‘There is no Doué, Dembélé or Kvaratskhelia in the Premier League’

Liam Rosenior singled out Désiré Doué among several Paris Saint-Germain stars as he admitted his side struggled to cope with the hosts’ individual quality in a 5-2 defeat to PSG in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night at a press conference attended by Get French Football News.

“In the Premier League, there is no Doué, no Ousmane Dembélé, no Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, no Vitinha or João Neves,” the Chelsea FC boss said after the match. “It’s an exceptional team. Exceptional European champions.”

Chelsea had matched PSG for much of the evening and were level at 2-2 after 74 minutes, before a costly error from goalkeeper Filip Jörgensen turned the match. Pressed by Bradley Barcola, Jörgensen’s misplaced pass allowed Kvaratskhelia to pull the ball back for Vitinha, whose delicate lob restored PSG’s lead.

Kvaratskhelia then struck twice late onto seal the result and give PSG a three-goal advantage ahead of the second leg at Stamford Bridge. Despite the heavy defeat, Rosenior insisted he had been pleased with his side’s display for long stretches.
