Aston Villa submit offer to sign Alexander Sorloth

Unai Emery’s Aston Villa have tabled an offer to bring Atletico Madrid striker Alexander Sorloth back to the Premier League.

Alexander Sorloth’s future has become an interesting talking point as Aston Villa look to prise him away from Atletico Madrid. According to a report from Fichajes, Unai Emery’s team have already made an offer to sign the Norwegian international.

On the back of an impressive season with Villarreal, Sorloth made the move to Atletico last summer. While he is not a regular starter for Diego Simeone’s team, the 30-year-old has established himself as a key figure in the team.

In the ongoing campaign, he has been involved in 41 matches across competitions. The veteran striker has racked up 2,200 minutes and has 16 goals and an assist to his name. While he seems to be enjoying life at the Madrid-based club, the experienced striker now has the opportunity to return to the Premier League.

While he did have a stint at Selhurst Park back in the day, the 30-year-old struggled to make the desired impact. As a result, he could be interested in securing a return to England amidst interest from Aston Villa.

Villa are pushing hard to land Sorloth

His contract at the Spanish club runs until the summer of 2028. As a result, Atletico are in a very comfortable position with regard to his future. However, they could look to cash in on him, as they seem to have some big plans for the summer.

They want to bring in a world-class striker, and Sorloth’s departure could actually help raise funds and make room for a marquee signing. The La Liga giants have received a concrete offer from Villa, who are ready to fork out €35 million for the 30-year-old.

They are set to offer €30 million up front, with another €5 million as add-ons. It is certainly a massive financial offer given the player’s age, and Atletico certainly have a big decision to make.

With Ollie Watkins struggling to make the desired impact, Emery wants a proven goal scorer, and Sorloth can help their cause, given the outstanding numbers he has produced in the ongoing campaign.

Villa’s interest in appealing to the player. He seems keen on securing a return to England, and it will be interesting to see how things pan out moving forward.
