Liverpool, Chelsea interested in Lamine Camara

Liverpool and Chelsea are among the teams interested in a move for Lamine Camara, with Monaco expected to sell at a high price.

According to Caught Offside, Lamine Camara could be the next big sale out of Monaco, with the Ligue 1 giants likely to welcome offers in the range of €65–75 million for the midfield sensation. The Senegalese midfielder is attracting interest from the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool, with those teams looking for midfield reinforcements ahead of the summer.

Monaco have developed a huge reputation for being a club that develops talents and sells them at a top price for profit. Hence, the club are not expected to stand in the way of players eager to make the step up to a bigger team, and this time around, their highest sellable asset appears to be Lamine Camara.

Camara, who has excelled at club level as well as with Senegal over the last few years, is already on the radars of some of the top Premier League teams. Chelsea and Liverpool are reportedly interested, with Monaco reportedly ready to welcome offers in the region of €65–75 million, as they might be open to selling the midfield sensation.

Liverpool are in the market for a new midfielder, amid links to several players, including Adam Wharton, who could leave Crystal Palace. Their style demands a player with high energy, and Camara certainly falls into that category, as his presence would suit them tactically too.

Chelsea are in a similar boat, as they could seek a new midfielder to refresh their ranks in the central areas. There are concerns over Enzo Fernández’s future, with the addition of Camara then set to make sense in plenty of ways. However, those sides must be willing to fork out the €65–75 million sum that Monaco are demanding, which may represent a risk given the Senegal international does not have extensive experience.

Lamine Camara to the Premier League?

Beyond Liverpool and Chelsea, the likes of Newcastle United and Manchester United recently scouted the player in a bid to explore their interest ahead of the summer. There is considerable admiration from the Premier League, and the financial power of the English league makes it the ideal destination for Camara.

Monaco will not want to sell their biggest asset on the cheap, and while they might be open to negotiations, Camara is expected to leave at a high price. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool and Chelsea are serious about their interest, and if so, whether they are willing to invest big in landing the Senegalese midfielder in the summer.
