Dani Olmo could be on the move in the near future as multiple top clubs are after him. According to a report from Fichajes, PSG, Arsenal and Manchester City are all keen on signing the Barcelona playmaker. All three clubs are gearing up for a transfer battle for his signature.
However, securing his services won’t be easy, as Barcelona do not have any intentions of negotiating his departure, and he is protected by a massive $580 million release clause.
After making a name for himself at RB Leipzig, Olmo returned to Barcelona in the summer of 2024. Having spent seven years of his youth career at the Catalan club, he was very keen on playing for their first team.
Since securing a return to the Spanish giants, he has managed to establish himself as a key figure in the team. So far, he has 77 appearances and has contributed towards 34 goals. While he is not a regular starter, he is certainly enjoying his time under Hansi Flick.
In the ongoing campaign, he has been involved in 38 matches, has racked up over 2,000 minutes and has contributed towards 15 goals. While he prefers playing as a number ten, he can take up a deeper role in midfield and even feature as a left winger when needed.
His performances have placed him on the wishlist of some of the biggest clubs in Europe. Pep Guardiola is a massive admirer of the 27-year-old and wants him at Manchester City ahead of next season. They see him as an ideal successor to Bernardo Silva, who looks set to leave.
They are reportedly preparing a $100 million offer to initiate talks with the Catalan club. Meanwhile, PSG are also after his services. Luis Enrique wants to reunite with him in Paris, having coached him during his stint with the Spanish national team. He considers him an ideal fit for the club’s project.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have also been closely monitoring the former Leipzig star. They are convinced that he could significantly bolster their attack with his creativity and finishing. While all three clubs are ready to battle for his signature and can break the bank for him, Barcelona do not seem interested in negotiating his sale.
They consider him non-transferable, regardless of the club’s financial situation. Interested clubs will have to convince Olmo to push for a move for things to change. Offering him a prominent role could help their cause.
