Scottish striker Oliver Burke of 1. FC Union Berlin has moved up to second place on the all-time Bundesliga top-ten fastest player chart after being clocked at 37 km/h (22.99 mph) this weekend. Burke’s clocked speed in the Easter Sunday 1-1 draw with St. Pauli makes him the first player to crack the top-ten in the current 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign.
As noted in a previous Get German Football News piece, the current Bundesliga season – despite seeing some impressive speed measurements by notoriously fast players such as St. Pauli’s Ricky Jade Jones and RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande – hasn’t featured any new top ten entrants. Last year, five players totally shook up the top-ten list.
Burke becomes the first 2025/26 Bundesliga footballer to alter the list.
Here’s the current state of the list:
36.53 km/hr (22.69 mph) on September 21st, 2024.
