A club legend at Bayern Munich, having represented the club between 2012 and 2015, Dante (42) is expected to return to the club in a different capacity at the end of the season, according to a report from L’Équipe.
This season will be Dante’s last as a professional player. That announcement was made last summer, when he signed a final one-year extension with OGC Nice. It means that, after 10 years at the Ligue 1 club, his time at the Allianz Riviera will come to an end. However, there was the possibility of him remaining with Le Gym in a coaching capacity. Dante himself was overtly open to that possibility.
Having studied for his coaching badges during international breaks over the past two years, he recently received his UEFA coaching licence. There is, therefore, a green light for him to go into management, but he is not expected to do so at Nice, but at Bayern Munich, where he is expected to replace Holger Seitz as manager of the Bavarian club’s U23 side.
