Chelsea, Manchester United intensify efforts to sign Noah Sadiki

Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly keen on signing 21-year-old DR Congo international Noah Sadiki from Sunderland in the summer transfer window.

Graeme Bailey has reported for TEAMtalk that Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in Noah Sadiki. The two Premier League giants are ramping up their efforts to sign the Brussels-born midfielder’s signature in the coming months. However, they will face stiff competition from Arsenal and Everton for the 21-year-old prospect’s signature.

Who is Noah Sadiki?

Noah Sadiki has taken no time to establish himself as one of the best young prospects in the Premier League. Sunderland signed the 21-year-old from Union Saint-Gilloise last summer, and he hit the ground running at the Stadium of Light, forging a solid partnership alongside Granit Xhaka in the middle of the park.

The DR Congo international has made 29 appearances for Sunderland thus far, and his exploits have piqued the attention of several high-profile clubs. Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, and Manchester United are among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.

A man in demand

Arsenal may dip into the market for a versatile midfielder this summer, as Mikel Arteta wants a top-notch alternative to Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi to sustain the challenge of competing on four fronts. So, with Christian Norgaard on the wrong side of 30 and Martin Odegaard struggling with fitness issues, Arsenal must pursue a midfielder.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s interest in Noah Sadiki is understandable. Liam Rosenior has a stacked midfield unit, with Reece James also excelling as a makeshift midfielder apart from regulars like Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, and Andrey Santos. However, recent reports have linked Fernandez with a move away from Chelsea, while Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo have struggled with fitness issues this season.

As for Manchester United, Casemiro will depart from Old Trafford as a free agent after the 2025/26 season, while Manuel Ugarte has been a liability in the middle of the park for the Red Devils. Several candidates, including Morten Hjulmand, have thus emerged on Manchester United’s wishlist, with Sadiki also a viable target.

Everton should also pursue a midfielder in the upcoming transfer window, as Idrissa Gueye is in the twilight of his career. So, Sadiki can become a long-term solution in the middle of the park alongside James Garner, who has established himself as one of the most reliable midfielders in the Premier League.

However, while Chelsea and Manchester United have intensified their efforts to sign Sadiki, a summer move will be a tall order, as Sunderland will not entertain offers for the 21-year-old DR Congo international this summer. So, the youngster’s prospective suitors must work on turning his head to secure his services in the coming months.
