Liverpool are now looking to fill the void by signing two quality attackers at the end of the season.
According to a report from TEAMtalk, they want to sign Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United. The former Everton attacker has also been linked with a move to Liverpool.
He is a lifelong Liverpool fan, and the opportunity to join them could be exciting for him. He has done quite well for Newcastle, and he will add goals and creativity to the Liverpool attack as well. Mohamed Salah has decided to leave the club, and Liverpool needs to invest in quality attackers.
Gordon has been excellent for Newcastle, recording 17 goals and five assists across all competitions. He is entering the peak years of his career, and this is the right time for him to join a bigger club where he can fight for major trophies. The move to Liverpool could be ideal for him. As for Liverpool, they would be getting a reliable Premier League performer who can hit the ground running.
Similarly, Liverpool are also interested in Iliman Ndiaye from Everton. The Senegal attacker has six goals and three assists in the Premier League this season. He has been an important player for Everton and has shown he can be a top-class attacker in the Premier League. He was outstanding for Senegal at the AFCON as well.
Everton will not want to sell the player to Liverpool, given the animosity between the two clubs. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool comes forward with an attractive proposal to tempt them. Liverpool have missed explosive pace and unpredictability on the flanks this season. The departure of Luis Diaz and the decline in form for Salah have cost them dearly this season. Ndiaye and Gordon could revitalise their attack next season.
