Burnley vs Manchester City: Preview and Prediction

Manchester City will be up against Burnley in the Premier League on Wednesday, hoping to return to the top of the table.

Manchester City will be able to climb to the top of the table if they manage to win this game vs Burnley at Turf Moor on Wednesday. Pep Guardiola’s men cannot afford to drop points, especially with Arsenal ahead of them in the league table.

Manchester City will need to win the remaining matches of the season to win the Premier League title. Meanwhile, Burnley are 19th in the league table, and they are one of the favourites to go down at the end of the season.

The Clarets have lost five of their last six Premier League matches, and this will be a difficult outing for them. Manchester City will be motivated to pick up all three points, and they have a quality team. The home team will need a major slice of luck in order to upset the odds.

Player to Watch

Rayan Cherki

The French international has had an excellent debut campaign with Manchester City, and he has been in impressive form in recent weeks. The 22-year-old produced an outstanding display against Arsenal at the weekend, and he will look to pick up from where he left off.

Burnley are likely to sit back and defend here. Manchester City will need him to step up and create opportunities in the final third. The Frenchman has the flair and ingenuity to open up the home defence. Cherki will look to create opportunities for his teammates and find the back of the net as well.

Prediction

Burnley 1-3 Manchester City

The home team will look to salvage some pride until the end of the season and put up a fight here. However, the difference in quality between the two teams is substantial. Manchester City are motivated and in impressive form.

The visitors will look to continue their recent run of form and grind out a positive result here. They should be able to pick up all three points easily. The Hard Tackle predicts a 3-1 win for Pep Guardiola and his charges.
