Chelsea rival Arsenal, Liverpool in Anthony Gordon race, ready to sell Alejandro Garnacho to fund move

Chelsea are ready to rival Arsenal and Liverpool for Anthony Gordon, as they plan to sell Alejandro Garnacho.

Chelsea are ready to make changes to their attacking setup, as they are prepared to sell summer signing Alejandro Garnacho. As per Team Talk, the Blues are ready to pursue Anthony Gordon to strengthen their attacking setup, but face competition from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool in the race.

Champions League football will prove key in luring some of the top talents in the market, and that could be the case with Anthony Gordon. The Newcastle United star could be a big target for some of the top six Premier League sides, as Chelsea joins the race.

Chelsea are planning changes to their attacking setup in the summer and are prepared to sell summer signing Alejandro Garnacho. The Blues believe the Enzo Maresca signing could be sold without incurring a loss on their reported £40 million investment in the Argentine winger.

Chelsea spent close to £90 million to sign Garnacho and Jamie Gittens, with neither of those working in their favour this season. Hence, it is a measure of selling the former to bring in funds for a new player such as Gordon, although they are also linked with Morgan Rogers.

Gordon could move on from Newcastle United as the club are not expected to finish in the Champions League places or even other European competitions from here on. Chelsea are not alone in the race for the England international, who has contributed 22 goals and assists, as Arsenal and Liverpool are also in the mix.

Anthony Gordon on the move?

Gordon is expected to attract plenty of top clubs towards his signature, as the likes of Bayern Munich have already expressed an interest. Arsenal are well placed to make a move, as Mikel Arteta is keen to add a new left-sided wide attacker to the mix, with Gordon at the very top of their list.

Liverpool have been keen for a while, but are now prepared to accelerate their pursuit of Gordon following Hugo Ekitike’s injury. Arsenal and the Reds are probably better placed than Chelsea in the race for the Newcastle United star, but the Blues always have strong pulling power when it comes to signing high-profile players, even without Champions League football.
