After losing to Union St Gilloise a few weeks ago, it looked like Club Brugge had blown their chances of winning a 20th Belgian top flight title. However, the side then won three games in a row. This coincided with their title rivals Union drawing to Gent, beating Anderlecht and then losing to Sint Truiden. Now ,three games after the sides faced off in Brussels, Club Brugge have taken the lead in the title play-offs.
With just four games to go, it looks like the clash between Club Brugge and Union on the 17th of May could decide the title. Before then, Club welcome Sint Truiden to Brugge while Union welcome KV Mechelen to Brussels before the cup final against Anderlecht. Both sides will be confident of winning their respective home games, which should set up a huge clash in Brugge on the 17th.
If Union fail to beat Club Brugge, they will need to beat both Gent and Anderlecht in their last two games and hope that Club Brugge drop points. The current league leaders face KV Mechelen and Gent in their final two games of the play-offs.
