After a couple of injury-riddled seasons, Bamba Dieng (26) has bounced back spectacularly this season. The Senegalese forward has scored 16 goals in 25 games in all competitions. It comes after a middling loan spell at SCO Angers last season. Prior to that, he had struggled following his departure from Olympique de Marseille.
His revival is timely, with the centre-forward out of contract at the end of the season. Clubs across Europe have shown an interest in signing Dieng, but there is now a clear favourite, as per a report from Sacha Tavolieri.
SC Freiburg and Real Betis have both been in talks to sign Dieng on a free transfer, but it is now Hoffenheim, who have shown great eagerness to get a deal over the line, who lead the race. Talks between the player’s entourage and the Bundesliga side are advancing. The offer submitted by Hoffenheim is better than those offered by rivals.
