Mathieu Bodmer announces exit from Le Havre

Le Havre AC secured safety in Ligue 1 thanks to a win over FC Lorient on Sunday night, however, there will be changes over the summer, with sporting director Mathieu Bodmer announcing his exit from the club.

Bodmer has helped keep Le Havre in Ligue 1, despite the club working on a meagre budget. His exit comes as a surprise. He announced that he is resigning from his role because of “internal” issues “that [he] struggles to accept.”

Bodmer arrived at HAC in 2022 but it seems that a conflict with new owners Blue Crow have put an end to their collaboration. He added that he wanted to end his time at the Normand club on a positive note, which is now assured given the club’s finish in Ligue 1.

Bodmer, speaking on Sunday night, said that he didn’t “need anything. I don’t need money, just respect.” It is unclear what his next step is, however, he has been linked with a move to Kylian Mbappé-owned club SM Caen, who next season will compete in the recently created Ligue 3.
