Burnley will return to the EFL Championship next season, but Maxime Esteve (23) won’t be following them, according to a report from L’Équipe.
The Frenchman, who came through the ranks at Montpellier HSC, has reached the 100-game mark for Burnley, but his days at Turf Moor are now numbered. Having impressed in that time, the centre-back is attracting interest and is almost certain to leave the Lancashire club upon the conclusion of the domestic season.
As per L’Équipe, Esteve is expected to make a swift decision regarding his future. There are two options: stay in the Premier League or move to the Bundesliga. In the Premier League, Nottingham Forest, Everton, and Bournemouth have made contact to sound out a deal. In Germany, Bayer Leverkusen are interested.
Burnley have opened the door to an exit for Esteve, whose deal with the club runs until 2030.
