Real Madrid are hoping to end a disappointing 2025-26 season with a victory over Athletic Club, and there are on course to do so after taking an early lead at the Santiago Bernabeu.
There is little on the line for Alvaro Arbeloaβs side, although it is the final appearances in white for club captain Dani Carvajal and David Alaba. And so far, it has been a dream final bow for the former, who has played his part in the opening goal.
Carvajal played a wonderful ball in behind for Gonzalo Garcia to run on to, and the young striker made no mistake to slot in the opening goal of the match, much to the delight of the Bernabeu crowd.
