Manchester United prepare Mamadou Sangaré offer

Manchester United are preparing an offer for RC Lens midfielder Mamadou Sangaré (23), as per a report from Foot Mercato.

The bubble of positivity has certainly burst at Lens. Having finished second in Ligue 1 and qualified for next season’s UEFA Champions League, they then went on to win the Coupe de France for the first time in their history.

However, what has followed has been a swathe of exits. Captain Adrien Thomasson has completed a move to Stade Rennais, Allan Saint-Maximin has also left on a free transfer, whilst Malang Sarr is expected to do the same. Manager Pierre Sage is also on the verge of joining Crystal Palace, and Foot Mercato now understands that Sangaré, one of the key players in Lens’ success last season, could also depart.

The publication understands that Manchester United, looking to add midfield depth this summer, are interested in the Malian and are readying an offer. However, there is intense interest, with around 10 clubs in the race, although, for now, there are no concrete offers; Manchester United’s interest is the strongest.

Sangaré’s price tag is set at €40m, however, given the strong interest in the midfielder, a much higher final figure is expected.
