V Sports, the owners of Aston Villa, confirmed their purchase of a minority share in Ligue 2 club AS Annecy (thought to be a 30% share, although not confirmed) earlier this month. It is a deal that had been in the works for some time, and Villa defender Triston Rowe spent last season on loan at the French club.
The multi-club ‘synergies’ between the two entities are set to go further this summer, as per a report from The Athletic. The publication understands that three players will make the move from Aston Villa to Annecy. Mohamed Koné (18), a highly-rated midfielder, as well as Kadan Young (20, pictured) and Zepiqueno Redmond (20), are all set to ply their trade in France’s second tier next season.
The latter joined Aston Villa from Feyenoord the previous summer and spent the first half of the season on loan at Huddersfield, but struggled for gametime in League One. All are expected to complete moves ahead of the upcoming season.
