Corentin Tolisso (31) has extended his contract at Olympique Lyonnais. His deal had been set to expire in 2027. His new deal runs until 2029.
Lyon’s sporting director Matthieu Louis-Jean said at the end of last season that Tolisso’s deal would be renewed. Since returning to his formative club, following an injury-hit stint at Bayern Munich, the midfielder has excelled. Last season, he put up excellent figures, scoring 15 goals and registering six assists in 39 games in all competitions.
Retaining Tolisso was a priority, but given the DNCG’s continued surveillance of the club’s wage bill, signing him on reduced terms was also important for Lyon. L’Équipe understands that they have succeeded in doing just that. Not only has the France international’s deal been extended by two years, the club have also succeeded in lowering his salary, which will give the Ligue 1 giants more manoeuvrability in the transfer window.
