HNB are reporting that Kortrijk are closing in on signing South African winger Shandre Campbell from Club Brugge. The 21-year-old has not been able to break into the first team at Club Brugge and now looks set to join recently promoted Kortrijk in a bid to earn more game time. Kortrijk have been incredibly active on their return to the top flight of Belgian football and in Campbell they are getting a talented winger who could prove to be a smart pick up.
Campbell joined Club Brugge in 2024 from SuperSport United, where he had played 30 games and scored five goals. He is set to leave with 18 first team appearances and two goals, but for Club Brugge second team, Club NXT, he showed some potential. During the 2024/2025 season he scored nine goals for the Club NXT team in the Belgian second tier, with two assists. He struggled to push on, although did score his two goals this season for the Club Brugge first team.
Campbell is one of the few South African players who has decided to leave the domestic league for Europe, but this year he will be joined by Bafana Bafana international Relebohile Mofokeng. The 21-year-old, who is also a winger, left South African champions Orlando Pirates to join Union St Gilloise.
