Lille OSC kick-start a new era under manager Davide Ancelotti with a trip to Angers SCO. It will be Ancelotti’s first game as a head coach in Europe, with his only other head coaching experience coming during his time in Brazil with Botafogo.
Ancelotti is set to start Olivier Giroud in his first game with Matias Fernandez-Pardo suspended (albeit the Belgian also reportedly skipped playing in a preseason fixture as he attempts to secure a move away from France) and Hamza Igamane injured.
Ethan Mbappé should start on the right of the attack as he hopes to avoid another season curtailed by injury concerns. On the left, Lille will likely get their first look at new signing Başar Önal in a competitive fixture.
