Stade Rennais were set to travel to the capital to face Paris Saint-Germain for their opening game of the season, but instead the news broke this week that they will be playing at home after the fixture was reversed due to a fungal infection affecting the Parc des Princes.
The home crowd at the Roazhon Park will therefore likely get a chance to watch some of their new signings get their first run out in a competitive game. Franck Haise is expected to hand out three debuts this evening, with Charlie Cresswell likely to start in defence.
In midfield, Adrien Thomasson, who left RC Lens at the end of his contract, will look to feed Rennes’ big star and the league’s top scorer, Esteban Lepaul. Out on the left wing, Issa Soumaré arrived from Le Havre AC, with less fanfare than the other two, but is a proven Ligue 1 talent.
