Official | Michael Zetterer completes €5m Leeds switch

Eintracht Frankfurt have officially confirmed the departure of goalkeeper Michael Zetterer to Premier League outfit Leeds United. The 31-year-old leaves the Bundesliga club after just one season in Hessen, with multiple German outlets reporting that Leeds will pay approximately €5m for his services. Zetterer has signed a contract through 2029 with Daniel Farke’s side.

Kauã Santos is currently expected to serve as Atubolu’s deputy, effectively pushing Zetterer further down the pecking order and opening the door for a move abroad. Leeds have now acted, bringing Zetterer in as cover behind new No. 1 James Trafford.

Statement on Michael Zetterer’s departure

“We thank Michael for our time together and for his commitment to Eintracht Frankfurt,” sporting director Timmo Hardung noted in an SGE-released statement. “We wish him all the best and every success for his personal and professional future.”
