Charleroi have announced the signing of Aston Villa defender Triston Rowe on loan until the end of the season. Charleroi have also been able to agree a purchase option with Aston Villa for the 19-year-old right-back. Rowe has taken the number two shirt at Charleroi, who have had an excellent start to the Belgian Pro League season.
Rowe, who has been capped at youth level by England, has played for Aston Villa’s academy for many years, but is yet to make his first team debut for the senior side. During the 2025/2026 season he was loaned out to French side Annecy. Rowe played 31 games for the Ligue 2 side, scoring one goal and providing two assists. Rowe can play as a right-back or further forward if required.
For Charleroi, the Aston Villa loanee adds some much needed depth on the right-hand side, especially with Antoine Bernier, who can play on both wings, being out for a while. After four games in the new Belgian Pro League season, the Zebras sit top with four wins out of four, conceding just two goals and scoring nine goals.
