Official: Sevilla unveil last-minute summer signing from AC Milan

La Liga outfit Sevilla have on Wednesday unveiled the club’s latest midfield addition to the media. The player in question? Youssouf Fofana.

French international Fofana for his part emerged as a prominent name in the headlines surrounding Sevilla almost out of the blue late on Tuesday evening.

Hours out from the Spanish transfer deadline, it was confirmed that the brass at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán had opened talks with their AC Milan counterparts, over the terms of a last-minute loan deal.

After Fofana was informed that he does not feature in the plans of new Milan boss Ruben Amorim for the season ahead, the 27-year-old in turn opened the door to a potential La Liga switch.

And as alluded to above, after a quickfire round of negotiations between the parties, Sevilla have today unveiled Fofana as their latest high-profile signing.

The one-time Monaco man, who has penned terms in Nervión through next summer, has taken the number 24 jersey in Luis García’s squad.
