Odsonne Édouard (28) has undergone surgery for an adductor injury and will miss several weeks of action, RC Lens have confirmed.
Édouard has struggled with injuries throughout the start of the season and has been limited to just nine appearances (just three starts, all in Ligue 1) in all competitions. He is now set to miss several weeks of action and may not return before the short winter break at the end of December.
Announcing the absence of the centre-forward, Lens said that he had been contending with chronic adductor pain. He underwent surgery on Wednesday morning. This operation was successful.
It is a blow for Les Sang et Or. Not only are they without Édouard, but they are also without Abdallah Sima and have been since the last international break. He will not return before the end of November, it has been confirmed. There is, therefore, a considerable reliance upon Benfica loanee Franjo Ivanovic.
