According to a report from Hammers News, Kaio Jorge could end up joining West Ham United in the upcoming winter transfer window as the East London club have been offered the chance to sign him. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team are desperately looking for a new number nine, and the Brazilian international could certainly help their cause.
Jorge came up the ranks at Santos and made quite a name for himself on his way up. He was on the wishlist of some of the biggest clubs in Europe, but Juventus managed to beat the competition to his signature back in 2021.
However, the move to the Turin-based club did not go according to plan for the Brazilian forward, as he only made 11 first-team appearances before returning to his homeland in the summer of 2024. Jorge has got his career back on track since joining Cruzeiro.
The 23-year-old striker has been in fine form this season. He has been involved in 38 matches across competitions and has contributed towards 27 goals (20 goals, 7 assists). His performances have once again resulted in interest from European clubs.
West Ham United, who were keen on signing him back in the day, have once again been linked with the Brazilian striker. The East London club have been offered the chance to sign Kaio Jorge in the upcoming transfer window.
The Hammers have had significant problems in the final third. West Ham do not have a reliable goalscorer, and they have struggled to find the back of the net. Niclas Fullkrug and Callum Wilson have just one goal so far between them. So, Nuno Espirito Santo has been forced to throw 20-year-old Callum Marshall into the mix.
While the Portuguese tactician likes what he has seen from the youngster, the former Nottingham Forest boss is keen on signing a new striker in the winter window. Jorge is certainly an option for the London club, after intermediaries have reached out to them.
They have held talks with West Ham about a potential move back to Europe for the 23-year-old. Given the kind of form Jorge has been in, he could prove to be a valuable addition to their squad. However, it remains to be seen if Nuno Espirito Santo’s team actually make a move for him.
