Sébastien Pocognoli confirms ‘grade 2’ ankle sprain for Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba (32) was in line to make his return over the weekend when Paris FC came to visit AS Monaco. However, after suffering an ankle injury in training on Thursday, his comeback was delayed. Sébastien Pocognoli has provided further details about the blow.

“He has a grade two sprain,” confirmed Pocognoli in a press conference attended by Get French Football News. “That is all that I can tell you for now. There will be another test next week. It is a medium sprain. I can’t give you the medical terms […] his availability could vary between a matter of a few days or one or two weeks. We’ll be able to confirm that next week. We’ll see.”

It is a blow for Pogba, who is desperate to make his return. It was hypothesised last week that La Pioche could return against Stade Rennais on 22nd November, although it was later reported that he may actually be fit to face RC Lens this coming Saturday.
