PSG eyeing Alexis Mac Allister swoop

Luis Enrique’s Paris Saint-Germain are looking to sign Liverpool midfield mainstay Alexis Mac Allister.

Alexis Mac Allister’s consistent performances for Liverpool have established him as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. His work at Anfield hasn’t gone unnoticed; multiple top clubs are interested in him, and it seems one of them is ready to make a move for his signature.

According to a report from Fichajes, PSG are keen on signing him, and they are plotting an ambitious raid on Liverpool for the Argentine World Cup winner. Luis Enrique has identified him as a priority target to bolster his midfield, and the French club are already at work.

Following the imminent departure of Fabian Ruiz, the Ligue 1 giants are looking for an ideal replacement. They believe Mac Allister could do wonders for them. He has the experience and the ability needed to take up a regular slot in their midfield alongside Vitinha and Joao Neves.

While he has already led the team to a sextuple, the Spanish manager now wants more creativity and control in midfield to continue their dominance in European football.

Will Liverpool sell Mac Allister?

Mac Allister joined the Reds in the summer of 2023 after making quite a name for himself while playing for Brighton. Since moving to Liverpool, he has only gone from strength to strength and has been one of their mainstays of late.

While his contract runs until the summer of 2028, he has often been linked with a move away. Liverpool have spent a fortune on transfers this season, and they might have to offload a few of their players next summer to balance the books. They might not have an option other than to cash in on the Argentine international.

Enrique believes Mac Allister’s versatility could come in handy. His ability to play in different roles will give him a lot of tactical options. Given how uncertain things have been at Liverpool of late and the fact that Arne Slot’s future is also not certain, PSG are looking to use it to lure the former Brighton star to Paris.
