Liverpool could re-sign Jarell Quansah

Arne Slot’s Liverpool are seriously considering bringing Bayer Leverkusen star Jarell Quansah back to Anfield.

Jarell Quansah could be heading back to the Premier League, as Liverpool look set to re-sign the English international. According to a report from Football Insider, the Reds are seriously considering bringing him back to reinforce their backline.

Quansah was a part of the Liverpool setup since his childhood days. He went up the ranks at some pace and even had multiple loan spells away from the club. He eventually got promoted to their first team in the summer of 2023 and established himself as a key part of their team under Jurgen Klopp.

While Arne Slot did make a lot of use of his versatility last season, he decided that the 23-year-old was surplus to requirements last summer. As a result, Liverpool ended up selling him to Bayer Leverkusen for £35 million.

Since Quansah only had a limited game time at Anfield, he might have been pleased to join a club where he could be a regular starter. Since moving to Germany last summer, he has been involved in 28 matches across competitions and has contributed towards two goals.

Quansah to return to Merseyside?

Quansah’s impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed. While his contract runs until the summer of 2030, he could be on the move next summer, as Liverpool consider bringing him back.

Ibrahima Konate’s contract is running down. Despite all their attempts, Liverpool have failed to tie him down to a new deal. Since he looks set to leave the club for free, the Reds want to bring in an ideal long-term replacement.

They consider Quansah an ideal fit for their project thanks to his consistent performances in Germany. Slot looks set to give him another opportunity, and he certainly has it in him to make it big in the Premier League. The youngster would certainly love a chance to establish himself as a mainstay at Liverpool.

When the Reds sold him to Leverkusen last summer, they negotiated a buy-back clause that can be triggered in 2027. Next year could give the 23-year-old another opportunity at his boyhood club. Quansah’s return could be sealed with a pre-agreed fee. The contract and the paperwork are already in place for the move to go through.
