La Liga have released the updated salary limit for March 2026, following the winter transfer window. The two Blaugrana sides, Barcelona and Levante, are the biggest movers in the division with differing fortunes.
The big rise comes from Barcelona, who are up by €81.8m from their summer salary limit to €432.8m, widening the gap to Atletico Madrid behind them to €96m. Real Madrid remain €329m higher than the Catalan side with the highest limit, but Los Colchoneros are the second biggest risers, with an increase of €10m.

Other more minor increases were seen for Athletic Club (€6m), Valencia (€4m), Espanyol (€500k), Osasuna (€2.75m), Alaves (€6.8m), Rayo Vallecano (€1.9m), Real Oviedo (€1.7m) and Girona (€1.5m). In terms of percentages, Los Babazorros’ €6.8m increase represents a rise of 14%. That is only surpassed by Barcelona’s 19% improvement.
Going the other way are Levante, who have seen their salary limit slashed by €17.6m, a drop of 51%. The other sides to lose ground are Real Betis (€3.8m), Elche (€3.5m) and Getafe (€15.9m). Los Azulones are the other side that have watched their ability to spend be reduced dramatically, a fall of 31%, further putting into perspective the work of Jose Bordalas.
Reports earlier in 2026 have stated that Barcelona believe they are just €10m away from getting back within their salary limit, and at that point being able to spend the same out as they earn and save on new players. In recent years, Barcelona have only been able to use 50-60% of those changes on registering new players, as is the rule for all teams.

In total, there has been a rise of €75m in salary limit across La Liga. Following the recent updates, Levante now have the lowest salary limit in the division, and together with Sevilla are some way adrift of the next lowest, Getafe. Elche are the only other side under the €40m mark.
