Bernardo Silva increasingly likely to seal summer move to Serie A

Atletico Madrid and Barcelona have suffered a massive blow in their pursuit of Bernardo Silva, as he looks likely to move to Serie A.

Bernardo Silva’s future has become a massive talking point with his contract at Manchester City running out at the end of the season. With the Portuguese international likely to be available for free, multiple top clubs from across Europe are after his signature.

La Liga giants Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are keen on signing him, and they are keeping tabs on him. However, according to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Silva is increasingly likely to move to the Italian top flight, where AC Milan, Inter Milan, Napoli and Juventus are interested in his services.

On the back of his impressive performances for AS Monaco, Manchester City forked out £43 million to sign Bernardo Silva back in 2017. The veteran playmaker has only gone from strength to strength over the years, and he has played a big part in all the success they have had.

At 31, he remains an integral part of Pep Guardiola’s team, and the manager highly values his ability to feature as a number ten, on the right flank, as well as a central midfielder. However, Silva’s future is up in the air with his contract running out. The Portuguese international is unlikely to pen a new deal and is set to leave Mancheste rCity as a free agent.

European giants to battle it out for Silva

Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are both keen on signing Bernardo Silva. The two La Liga giants are closely monitoring his situation, as they consider it a great market opportunity. Diego Simeone’s team value his versatility, while the Blaugrana believe he could add a lot of creativity and attacking flair in the final third.

While both La Liga clubs are ready to make a move, they have suffered a blow as Silva looks likely to move to Italy. AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Napoli are keeping tabs on his situation, but Juventus are the ones who are best placed to sign the 31-year-old.

The Bianconeri want more experience and quality, and they believe a player of his quality for free is an absolute steal. Given the competition for his signature, it will be interesting to see if the Turin-based club actually manage to sign him.
