Mario Gila has established himself as one of the most reliable defenders in Serie A since joining Lazio from Real Madrid in July 2022. Born in Barcelona, the Spaniard spent his formative years in his homeland, passing through the academies at Santa Perpetua de Moguda, Sabadell, Mollet, and CF Damm before graduating from the youth division at Real Madrid.
However, the Spanish defender could not establish a foothold in the first-team squad at Real Madrid, and the move to Lazio has helped him land on his feet. Gila has over 100 outings for the Serie A club thus far while chipping in with two goals. Meanwhile, the 25-year-old defender’s progress at Lazio has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs, including Aston Villa, Everton, and Tottenham Hotspur.
