Real Madrid prioritising summer move for Murillo

Real Madrid could reportedly prioritise a move for Murillo in the summer, with a host of Premier League teams also interested.

According to Fichajes, Real Madrid are reportedly prioritising a move for Murillo to improve their backline, as a left-sided centre-back is deemed essential. The Brazilian has plenty of top-level suitors from the Premier League, but Florentino Perez is determined to devise a plan to bring the Nottingham Forest star to the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid are set for a significant summer window that focuses on certain areas of the squad that need massive improvements. The centre of midfield, as well as the defence, needs reinforcements, as Florentino Perez is set to widen his net to get his top targets through the door.

A left-sided defender is also on the agenda, as Perez has set his sights on Nottingham Forest star Murillo as a priority option. The 23-year-old Premier League centre-back has been a big performer for the relegation-threatened side, with suggestions that he could jump at the chance of a big switch.

Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are also interested, as he could be a number one target for those clubs ahead of the summer. Given what Murillo brings to the table, he could slot straight into any of those teams, which is a testament to his displays for Forest since he joined them.

Murillo’s profile also makes him a unique candidate for many of those sides who are eager to sign a left-footed centre-back. As things stand, a move to one of Chelsea or Manchester United might be seen as a strong possibility, but the entry of Real Madrid does change the equation somewhat.

Real Madrid to Sign Murillo?

The presence of Real Madrid does make them a strong contender for any player, including Murillo, with the 23-year-old Premier League centre-back likely to evaluate his future at Forest should proposals arrive in the summer. There were suggestions that Perez is reportedly ready to sell Dean Huijsen, but the real reason to target the Brazilian could be around the possible departures of a few senior stars.

Real Madrid are expected to part ways with experienced defenders David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger once their contracts expire in the summer. Signing Murillo to replace one of those would be a significant coup for the Spanish giants, but they must manoeuvre the challenge posed by those interested Premier League sides.
