Eddie Howe responds to Manchester United links with Bruno Guimaraes

Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes has been linked with a summer move away from the Tyneside club.

Manchester United have been linked with Bruno Guimaraes, but Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has now refused to entertain speculation surrounding the future of his club captain.

Howe explained that the Brazilian midfielder is committed to the club and that he is not worried about losing the player in the summer. He also added that responding to transfer speculations surrounding the player would be a waste of his energy.

It will be interesting to see if Manchester United decide to make a move for Bruno Guimaraes in the summer. They need more control and creativity in the middle of the park, and the Newcastle United skipper would be an exceptional acquisition.

“I don’t even know how to respond to that. It is a waste of my energy,” , before adding, “Bruno is our captain and he is fully committed at the moment. He is injured at the moment; his only focus is coming back to fitness.”

Guimaraes would improve Manchester United

There is no doubt that Bruno Guimaraes is one of the best midfielders in the league, and he has consistently proven himself in England. The 28-year-old deserves to play at a high-level and join a bigger club. Manchester United will be able to provide him with the opportunity to fight for trophies next season. They are very likely to secure UEFA Champions League qualification for the upcoming campaign.

The Red Devils have the financial resources to pay a premium for the South American midfielder as well. Guimaraes has consistently shown his quality with Newcastle, and he is at the peak of his career. This could be the right time for him to move on from the Tyneside club and take on a bigger challenge. It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can finalise a move in the near future.

It is fair to assume that the Brazilian international will be tempted to join Manchester United if there is a concrete proposal on the table. It would be a huge opportunity for the Newcastle United skipper, and he will not want to miss out on a big move.
